The advantage of super premium vodka is that it has a much more refined taste and overall brand appeal compared with standard vodka, but for the most part is still affordably priced.  Premium vodkas are different from the outset. They use a higher quality mix of ingredients as well as bespoke botanical infusions. More emphasis is put on producing a pleasing taste, removing the sharpness that can be found in cheaper brands.   During the distilling stage, premium vodka goes through a much stricter process to refine the finished product. Often, the liquid will be distilled more times too, which can be seen on the label with phrases such as ‘triple distilled’ or even ‘5x distilled.’ What the vodka is passed through during the distilling stage plays a part too, and can include things such as quartz sand and other luxury materials.

People throughout Georgia have been using their traditional knowledge to distill vodka for centuries. Georgian premium vodkas were traditionally believed to have many medicinal properties. Originally distilled at home by communities of farmers, as the popularity of the drink increased so did demand, both domestically and abroad. Production modernized in the 20th century to meet the global demands. The process of Georgian time honored traditions of craft distillation have remained unchanged overall. Uniquely different than the variety of grains or corn based vodkas, Kartuli vodka is obtained by fermenting grape pomace which is then distilled in time honored traditions using exceptionally pure Georgian natural spring water.

Many consider liqueurs to be living in the shadows of their older, and more sophisticated, parents: liquor. The truth is that without liqueurs we wouldn’t have some of the most famous cocktails that everyone knows and loves. Liqueurs are liquor because they are distilled spirits. The difference lies in that liqueurs are sweetened spirits with various added flavors, oils, and extracts. Vodka, Rum, whiskey, brandy, and other liquors can serve as a base for liqueurs.

Not only is brandy the backbone in many classic cocktails, the distilled wine spirit also features prominently in fine cooking recipes. As more consumers turned to cooking and mixing cocktails at home during the pandemic, they’ve become more interested in acquiring different brandies and Cognacs.
